Electronics Recycling

Residential Electronics Recycling Program

The Chicago Department of Public Health is trying to make it easier to recycle your old electronics by opening drop off locations throughout the city.  

Electronics can include, but aren't limited to:

  • Computers

  • Televisions

  • Printers, fax machines, scanners

  • Keyboards and mice

  • VCRs, DVD players, and DVD recorders

  • Video game consoles

  • Portable, digital music players

  • Digital converter boxes

  • Cable & satellite receivers

  • Small-scale servers

There are also drop-off locations throughout the city that operate from April 1 through December 31. Those are listed below:

Residential Electronics Recycling Progra

Household Chemicals & Computer Recycling Facility

The City of Chicago operates a Household Chemicals & Computer Recycling Facility located at 1150 N. Branch Street. The facility is open year-round during the following hours:

  • Tuesdays from 7 am - 12 pm

  • Thursdays from 2 pm - 7 pm

  • First Saturday of each month from 8 am - 3 pm
