In the 49th Ward, the 24th District patrols six beats. Each patrol beat in the Chicago Police Department hosts monthly or bi-monthly community beat meetings. During beat meetings, residents can learn about the different patterns of crime the police have identified in the neighborhood and receive safety tips. Residents also have the opportunity to work directly with the officers in their beat to bring up any issues they may be noticing. This is a great tool to strengthen the relationship between police officers and the community.
