Finding a COVID-19 Vaccine Near You

  • The City of Chicago maintains a Vaccine Finder webpage that can be used to find vaccination providers near your location. You can also call the City's COVID-19 hotline for assistance at (312) 746-4835.

  • Cook County maintains a webpage to find COVID-19 vaccines near you; it can be found here.  

  • The State of Illinois maintains its own vaccine finder that can be found here that can link individuals to vaccine providers' websites.

  • Walgreens offers free COVID-19 vaccines, click here to schedule your appointment.

  • CVS also offers free COVID-19 vaccines, click here to schedule your appointment.

Be aware of scams

If anyone asks you to pay for access to a COVID-19 vaccine, you can bet it’s a scam. Don’t share your personal or financial information if someone calls, texts, or emails you promising access to a vaccine for an extra fee. - Center for Disease and Control (CDC)

Testing for COVID-19

  • The City of Chicago has compiled resources for testing options in the city including community health centers, pharmacies, community-based testing, and more. 

  • The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has compiled a list of testing sites throughout the state

  • Heartland Health Center is offering COVID-19 PCR testing to non-patients every Wednesday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm by appointment only (make an appointment call 872-245-3790).

  • Physicians Immediate Care, 6140 N. Broadway offers both rapid result and PCR testing for COVID-19 at their Edgewater office. Make an appointment online here or call 773-435-9028.

  • Swedish Covenant, 5140 N. California offers COVID-19 drive-thru testing at 2899 W. Carmen Ave with scheduled appointments. To screen for an appointment call 773-907-7700 or see more information on testing here.

  • Chicago Public Schools' (CPS) has information here regarding COVID-19 resources, testing, and positive case reporting as well as information about schools' designated testing days, quarantine protocols. All CPS students and faculty that have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close proximity to a COVID-positive person are asked to stay home, fill out the self report form here, and call their heath care provider for further guidance.

Accessing Healthcare

If you have insurance and believe you need non-emergency medical services, you can contact your insurance carrier to help locate care or to use a telemedicine service like Teledoc. If you have misplaced your insurance card, your employer’s benefits manager (usually human resources department) can provide you with the contact information 

Uninsured and low / no-income residents who need non-emergency medical services should locate their nearest community health center (CHC) at CHCs receive funding from the federal government that allows them to charge each patient on a sliding scale fee based on the patient’s income and ability to pay.
